ARA-290 (Erythropoietin-Derived Peptide / Innate Repair Pathway Activator)
Description:
ARA-290 is an 11–amino acid synthetic peptide derived from the B-helix region of erythropoietin (EPO). Unlike full-length EPO, ARA-290 retains the tissue-protective and anti-inflammatory effects of erythropoietin without stimulating erythropoiesis (red blood cell production). It acts through the innate repair receptor (IRR) complex, offering a promising research tool for inflammation control, neuropathy, and tissue regeneration studies.
Key Benefits:
Activates the innate repair receptor (IRR) for cellular protection
Reduces inflammation and oxidative stress
Promotes nerve regeneration and tissue healing
Protects against ischemic and metabolic injury
Does not induce erythropoiesis or alter hematocrit levels
Mechanism of Action:
ARA-290 binds to the EPOR–CD131 heterodimer complex (Innate Repair Receptor), which triggers downstream PI3K/Akt and STAT3 signaling pathways responsible for anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and regenerative effects. This mechanism promotes cellular survival and mitochondrial stability in response to oxidative or metabolic stress. Unlike erythropoietin, ARA-290 does not activate the EPOR homodimer, avoiding hematologic stimulation while retaining its cytoprotective and neuroprotective functions.
